What we do
Tiling work we handle
Bathroom floors & walls
Full bathroom tiling with the correct fall to the floor trap, neat cuts around fittings and waterproofing coordinated underneath.
Kitchen floors & backsplashes
Durable floor tiles and easy-clean backsplashes behind the hob and sink, with tight grout lines that resist oil and stains.
Living & bedroom floors
600×600 mm and large-format 600×1200 mm porcelain floors laid flat with levelling clips to avoid lippage.
Hollow & popped tile repair
Tiles that sound hollow, crack or lift (“tented”) are removed, the bed is re-prepared and new tiles are set with proper adhesive.
Regrouting & sealing
Rake out stained or cracked grout and regrout with cement or epoxy grout — a quick refresh for tired bathrooms.
Hacking & retiling
Remove old tiles down to the screed, or tile over sound existing tiles when it is safe to do so, saving time and mess.
Porch, balcony & outdoor tiles
Anti-slip, heavy-duty tiles for car porches, balconies and steps, laid with falls so rainwater drains away.
Skirting & stair nosing
Matching tile skirting, edge trims and stair nosings for a clean finish.
Warning signs
Time to retile or repair when…
- Tiles sound hollow when tapped, or have cracked and lifted in a ridge.
- Grout lines are black, crumbling or letting water through.
- Water ponds in the bathroom instead of flowing to the floor trap.
- Chipped or slippery bathroom floor tiles are becoming a safety risk.
- You are renovating the kitchen or bathroom and the old tiles are dated.
- Water is leaking to the room or unit below (tiles alone will not fix this — see waterproofing).

Good to know
Tips from the job
Why tiles “pop” in Malaysian homes
Heat and humidity make tiles and the slab expand at different rates. Without movement joints and full adhesive coverage, tiles can lift in a ridge — common in older condos. A proper repair re-beds them, not just glues the edges.
Choose anti-slip for wet areas
For bathrooms and porches, pick matt or textured porcelain with an anti-slip rating (R10–R11) rather than glossy tiles.
Tile over tile — sometimes
Laying new tiles over old ones saves hacking, but only if the old tiles are firmly bonded, level and the extra height still lets doors close. We tap-test before recommending it.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much does tile installation cost per sq ft in KL?
Labour for floor tiling in Kuala Lumpur is typically RM4–RM8 per sq ft for standard sizes and RM7–RM12 for large-format tiles; wall tiling is around RM5–RM9. Hacking, screeding, waterproofing and the tiles themselves are extra. Send photos and measurements for an exact quote.
Can you fix tiles that are hollow or have popped up?
Yes. We remove the lifted and hollow tiles, clean and re-prepare the base, and set new or salvaged tiles with full adhesive coverage. If many tiles are hollow we will explain whether a partial repair or a full relay makes more sense.
Do you supply tiles?
We can recommend tiles and buy them for you, or install tiles you have chosen yourself. Order about 10% extra for cuts and future repairs.
How long does it take to tile a bathroom?
A typical bathroom floor and walls takes around 3–5 working days including hacking, waterproofing, curing and tiling. A floor-only job or backsplash is often done in 1–2 days.
Can I tile over my existing tiles?
Sometimes. If the old tiles are firmly stuck, level and the new floor height still clears your doors and drains, tiling over can save time and cost. If any tiles are hollow or cracked, they need to be removed first.
Do you waterproof before tiling a bathroom?
Yes — when we retile a wet area down to the screed, a waterproofing membrane is applied and flood-tested before new tiles go on. See our waterproofing service for details.
